Angie Gad is the founder of MyIslam. Angie earned her M.A. from New York University majoring in International Relations with a focus on Middle East and Intelligence studies. Prior to that, she resided and studied in the Middle East for over six years.

Angie has, like many others, navigated striking a balance between being a practicing Muslim and an American. Growing up in a post-9/11 world, she made it her mission at a young age to correct the distorted perception of Islam that extremists have created. Her previous work in the field of counterterrorism, serving as a senior Intelligence Analyst for the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, has been one of her most significant contributions to that cause so far.

As an analyst, Angie covered the Islamic State and domestic extremist groups, including anti-government militia extremists and Sovereign Citizens. She published over 40 intelligence products such as, 'ISIS’s Strategy to Divide Muslims in the West, ISIS vs. al-Qaeda: Battle of the Brands', 'Militia Extremists: Threatening the Muslim Community' and 'Anti-government Extremists: Divided After Oregon'. She also authored '5 Years Later, the Egyptian revolution is Incomplete,' 'Egypt is the Past and the Future,' 'Egypt's Dictatorship Comes Full Circle' and 'Rejecting the Grey Zone.'
